Custom Sportswear Development

Your Brand. Your Product. Your Development Route.

A custom sportswear collection should begin with the brand’s product goals—not a fixed catalog. Whether you are refining an existing technical specification or shaping an early concept, the first step is to define intended use, fit direction, construction requirements and the identity you want the collection to express. RUIXING supports made-to-order development and manufacturing based on the agreed project scope.

Where Does Your Project Begin?

Four Starting Points, Four Different Gaps to Close

A complete tech pack may be ready for technical review. A reference garment helps clarify fit and construction, but still needs agreed specifications. A sketch communicates silhouette and design intent. An early product idea starts with intended use, target audience and key features. These are different starting points; none should be presented as an instant production-ready file.

OEM and ODM

Two Routes, One Defined Specification.

For an OEM project, the brand normally supplies detailed product information for factory review and manufacture. In an ODM-supported project, the starting point may be an idea, reference or commercial brief requiring additional product-development support. The exact design responsibilities, review stages and deliverables should be confirmed before sampling. Both routes ultimately need clear approved specifications.

ODM support means agreed product-development assistance—not a ready-stock catalog. The scope is confirmed per project.

Shape the Product Around Movement

A Training Short Is Not Defined by Its Outline Alone.

Liner coverage, pocket position, waistband tension and outer length work together. Similar decisions arise in tops through shoulder movement and seam placement, or in warm-up layers through fabric structure and openings. We encourage brands to define priorities before fixing every technical detail.

Build a Collection

Build a Collection, Not Disconnected Items.

A collection may combine a training top, shorts and a warm-up layer, but their materials and fits do not have to be identical. The brand system connects them through coordinated color direction, sizing logic, artwork placement and trims while allowing each garment to serve its intended purpose. Collection planning helps identify these shared decisions early.

Your Brand, Across Every Detail

Consistency Means Deliberate Choices, Not Identical Applications.

Artwork is only one part of a brand presentation. Labels, hangtags, packaging, placement and technique appearance should be considered alongside the garment’s material and intended use. A small logo on stretch fabric may require a different execution from the same artwork on a heavier hoodie.

Development Example

One Goal, Different Construction Decisions.

Development example: a brand requests running shorts with discreet phone storage and freedom of movement. Positioning a pocket inside the liner, at the rear waistband or in the outer layer changes accessibility, fabric load and the garment’s feel in motion. Before approving a solution, the brand should review the actual placement on a sample and assess the trade-offs.

Common Questions

Not covered here? Send your project and ask us directly.

Not necessarily. A sketch, sample or reference can start a discussion, but the missing measurements, construction and material details must be clarified before sampling.

No. The ODM support described here concerns agreed product-development assistance, not a ready-stock catalog. Confirm the scope of design work with our team.
